AI "Hallucinations" - Business Implications Understood

As I drove back from school last week, I was listening to a Wall Street Journal Technology podcast on Spotify. The podcast kept mentioning the term "AI hallucinations," which caught my eye. I read more about the topic online, finding some interesting details surrounding the idea.

I discovered that an "AI hallucination is when an AI model generates incorrect information but presents it as if it were a fact" (Link).

AI hallucinations can occur due to a variety of factors. For example, there may be limited or low-quality data in its databases, thus negatively impacting its reach and information. Additionally, AI may not be able to distinguish between reliable versus nonreliable sources of knowledge.

As business leaders, its important that we understand the ethical concerns with AI - from inaccurate information to privacy issues, there is still a lot for us to think of when it comes to this technology.

At the end of the day, AI is not human - and will never replace humans. As responsible digital citizens of this world, it is crucial that we understand the various ethical concerns associated with this technology to make sure we are taking a balanced approach to its use.
